Ruin haunts art because it makes both destruction and its traces appear. It gives itself as testimony of what has taken place and which is no longer. Ruin is a remnant. In this sense, it is the index of a past that persists in time. Through the ruin, there is in a way a refusal of silence, of the unrepresentable. The trace is the mark that art is a place of representation, of what would have disappeared, a refusal of erasure.
Nature will find itself deterritorialized, irreducible. How to create, about the Anthropocene
era, artistic and scientific forms of mediation from technologies thought through our
dependence on the environment.

The disappearance of wild landscapes in the Anthropocene Epoch leads us to analyze how this
period would allow the experience of the sublime to be re-read. How the Anthropocene
epoch would signify both the disappearance of the sublime but could also be as such a
sublime experience through the violence of the changes that this era brings about.
